Skittles Super Bowl Commercial | Review 1

Introduction:
I chose the Skittles Super Bowl advertisement because it was one of the few that weren't entirely weird and confusing. Despite it not being entirely zany, it still kept its uniqueness. I found that appealing.
Message Communicated
I believe that the communicated message was that skittles are for the entire family and more. Skittles are for everyone.

The message seems to be heavily implied, seeing as a family takes turn catching skittles in their mouth, followed by a cop and robber. Everyone had some skittles to share.
Elements of Design
The use of colour, which is a common for the product, considering the slogan is "Taste The Rainbow" really drew my interest when contrasted with the rest of the darkness of the scene. The various bright colours of the skittles especially the yellow and orange ones really pop out.

The message seemed to come from the story more so, however the darker lighting and bright colour of the skittles helped.
Conclusion:

This commercial is an astounding example, it didn't need to be entirely zany and confusing to catch my attention, it was a happy mooded commercial. The use of bright skittle colours in contrast to the dimly lit surroundings was clever. As well as the use of family, because if it can keep your family together and happy it has to be good.
